STEVE'S STORY:
Working Together to Make a Positive Difference

Steve is a local property owner who often rents his apartments to Metro Housing voucher holders. The following are his unsolicited views on why he supports Metro Housing:

As a small landlord, I faced hardships during the pandemic since many of my tenants were adversely impacted and were unable to pay their rent.

I didn't know what to do or who to turn to. I always want to do my best to help others but also recognize when I need assistance as well. However, the great folks at Metro Housing Boston went above and beyond to process an abundance of financial assistance applications to keep people housed.

As a small landlord, regardless of what was owed, I felt it was best to always accept the assistance in an effort to keep my tenants housed.

While there are unique circumstances, I understand that without organizations like Metro Housing Boston, where would people be? Sadly, homelessness across America is such a huge problem. I would like to let other property owners know that you should always want to do the best you can to keep your tenants housed. It's a wonderful program that works!

The pandemic was and is by far one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through as a landlord. However, not every organization operates with such care, kindness, and compassion like Metro Housing. I'm appreciative of the assistance that they have provided me as a landlord.

I strongly urge landlords to utilize the assistance available to them as we all have to work together in an collaboration to make a positive difference in the lives of people!
